Trades we supply

Steel fixers

Reinforcement fixing on civils, infrastructure and frame work. Cages, mats, columns and slabs, usually to a tight programme ahead of a pour.

What a good one looks like

Steel fixing sits directly in front of a concrete pour, so a gang that is slow does not just cost its own day, it moves everything behind it. Good fixers read a bar bending schedule without needing it explained and flag a clash before the pour rather than during it.

It is also where the pay rate earns its keep. Good people have a choice of sites, so the rate you set decides who is willing to take the job. We show you that rate and add £25, which means you can raise it without our margin moving with it.

How our pricing works

Cards and tickets

  • CSCS card
  • NVQ Level 2 in steel fixing for skilled operatives
  • Working at height and harness training
  • Own nips and tools

What moves the rate

  • Whether the work is at height
  • Programme pressure ahead of pours
  • Gang size and whether a chargehand is required
  • Site location and travel

We do not publish a rate table. Pay moves with the trade, the season and the location, so any figure printed here would be wrong within a month. Ring and we will tell you what the job is genuinely paying today.
